Trick or Treat! It's Wilco-ween!

The best treats this the Halloween season were arguably NOT candy, but rather a surprise, private performance by Wilco!

Legendary singer-songwriter and Chicago native, Jeff Tweedy and Wilco took the stage a couple hours before their sold out show at Metro to give some special invited guests a little peek at what might be coming up later that evening.

Playing to an intimate crowd of just about 100, the audience was delighted to hear the band's banter, one song's false-start and some quick quips by Tweedy. It was more like a chill show amongst friends than the usual roaring from their exceptionally enthusiastic audiences. And we all loved them for it.

The Metro swayed with Wilco's eclectic sounds, the strumming of each gorgeous guitar and some drumming to wake the dead.

The Metro show wrapped their latest tour, as Tweedy hits the road solo for the remainder of the fall in support of his third book, WORLD WITHIN A SONG: Music That Changed My LIfe and Life That Changed My Music.

The band will reunite this winter for international shows in Mexico, Japan and Australia before Solid Sound Festival returns to MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA in 2024.
