In 2021, “Welcome To Rockville '' was awarded America’s Largest Rock Festival after hitting a milestone of 161,000 in-person attendees with an at-home audience of 1.2 million viewers enjoying a live-streamed version of the performances.

Gates for “Welcome To Rockville” opened for the first time ever on Mother’s Day in 2011 at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, Florida. The festival’s first occurrence only ran one day and was intended to go all night, however, city noise ordinances shut down the mosh pits and head banging at 10 p.m. After only one year of “Welcome To Rockville,” coordinators were able to book Jacksonville natives, Shinedown, alongside legendary band, Korn, for their second year in 2012, selling a thousand more tickets than the year prior. In 2013, the festival expanded to a two-day event, yet again booking a Jacksonville native band to headline alongside renowned artists from Alice in Chains. The additional day of “Welcome To Rockville” more than doubled the number of attendees, selling an estimated 25,000 tickets. In 2018, “Welcome To Rockville” announced a third-day option for the festival which attracted a mass of over 90,000 attendees, exhibiting 11% growth from the first-ever experience in 2011 after only seven years of establishment. Proceeding their 2019 experience, Danny Wimmer Presents submitted a press release enclosing a new permanent home for the festival in Daytona Beach, Florida with a fourth-day option. After having to cancel the festival in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fans were eager to return in 2021 for the 10-year anniversary, harboring a record-breaking attendance of 161,000 attendees and quoting “Welcome To Rockville” as the biggest rock festival in America. Last year’s event continued the festival's consistent stream of growth, selling over 170,000 tickets with 95 acts scheduled over the 4-day festivities.
