Martinez Gonzalez announces debut solo album Suspiro out March 22, 2024 - Pre-order the album HERE!

Colombian-born, US-based guitarist Martin Gonzalez has announced the details for his debut solo album! Perhaps best known for his work as a composer on the acclaimed Rooster Teeth anime franchise "RWBY", along with being the lead guitarist for the band Atomic Guava and a former member of Ok Goodnight, Gonzalez will release his first studio full-length, Suspiro, on March 22, 2024. The first single from 'Suspiro', titled "Ouroboros", is out now on all platforms accompanied by a music video you can watch above. Speaking on the creative process behind the song, Gonzalez shares:

“'Ouroboros' is a song about overthinking and self-sabotage. During the last year or so I found myself struggling to make decisions, so I figured I needed to let some steam off and write a song about it. I asked my wife Ellie (who also wrote lyrics and performs vocals on the track) to help me flesh it out and we came up with the concept of 'Ouroboros' - the snake that eats itself in a vicious cycle of self-destruction. This is probably the first 'dark' song that I’ve ever written about my personal life, as well as the heaviest. I’m usually a very 'happy-go-lucky' type of person, but this time I decided to do the opposite!”

In addition to the contributions of his wife (Elizabeth Hull), Suspiro also features a number of stellar collaborators, including Zac Zinger (League of Legends / 8-bit Orchestra), Richard Henshall (Haken), and Cenk Esen.

Martin Gonzalez is a Colombian-born, US-based guitarist and composer best known for his work in television anime programs and video games. After graduating Berklee College of Music in 2019, Gonzalez started working as a freelance composer and music producer scoring for the eighth season of the anime "RWBY", which led him to become the lead composer for the show in Season 9. Simultaneously, he worked with his band Atomic Guava and released two EPs and one studio album (Peasants of the Future - 2022) as well as two albums and an ep with his former band Ok Goodnight (Limbo - 2019, The Fox & The Bird - 2023). At the end of 2022, Gonzalez decided to launch his solo career with the release of the "Blossoms" EP, and by 2023, he release a full OST along with a couple of singles.

In the span of a year Martin Gonzalez' solo work has garnered over 4 million streams as an independent artist, and birth collaborations with countless talented musicians and composers in the industry, including ex-Guns n' Roses guitarist Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal. Suspiro is Gonzalez' debut solo album, coming out this March, the release is his most personal work to date. His aspirations to tour and share his music with the world are the next domino to tip, and he has every intention of making it happen this year.
