Updated: Mar 22

L.S. Dunes, the well-known hardcore band from Chicago, Illinois, recently announced the upcoming release of their newest album, Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes. The album is a raw and revealing version of their debut album, Past Lives, and is set to launch on November 10th.

To give fans a sneak peek, L.S. Dunes released a demo of "Old Wounds," which is a stripped-down version of one of their most beloved tracks. This demo showcases the band's creative process and features lead singer Anthony Green's beautiful vocals, along with intricate guitar work from Travis Stever.

Although the "Old Wounds" demo won't be included in the upcoming Lost Songs album, it is a brilliant addition to the band's discography.

The official music video for "Old Wounds" takes you behind the scenes of L.S. Dunes' recording process at Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, California. This iconic desert studio is where the band initially recorded the track, and the video showcases the raw creativity and energy that went into making it. From Anthony Green's emotional vocals to Travis Stever's intricate guitar work, you'll get an inside look at the magic that makes L.S. Dunes' music so powerful.

Stever shared, "The original guitar part for 'Old Wounds' was conceived in the L.S. Dunes text thread. It was an old riff that I had never used. I stumbled on it and started working on it again and sent it in the middle of the night. Tim was the only one still awake… Tim had a positive response and showed enthusiasm, so I kept sending the riff ideas to him and he would give his opinion and notes. The next morning, I ran to my studio space and recorded the guitar parts. At this point, we had numerous instrumental ideas, and it was up to Anthony what songs we would choose for the desert sessions. He sent back the most beautiful and haunting vocals and lyrics to the guitar ideas that would become 'Old Wounds.' It then became clear that that would be one of the songs we needed to record."

The highly anticipated album, Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes by L.S. Dunes, is a musical masterpiece that features raw, stripped-down versions of all 11 tracks. The album offers a fresh perspective into the band's music, showcasing their hyper-intense, original form. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the band's sound, this album is a stunning artistic statement that will enchant and inspire you.
